Over the last three years there has been a dramatic and well documented
increase in the number of jurisdictions introducing REIT legislation.
Whilst there are some existing REIT Indices available our objective
was to provide Indices for ALL REIT markets. A number of REIT markets
are relatively immature and do not have separate exchange based indices.
We have therefore constructed a market capitalisation weighted index
for each REIT regime. The purpose is to enable accurate performance
measurement across all REIT regimes.
As Global, Regional, and Country REIT Funds grow in number and size,
we believe these indices will provide the most reliable benchmarks.
